Honestly, I had expectations for this book simply because I adore this author. And she did 👏🏽not👏🏽 miss...
I rarely see amnesia as a plot line for contemporary romance, but I think it works well in this world because it's dark and violent. The Mob plays a background character in the story but really sets the tone for the danger Hudson is in when he disappears. I really loved the way the idea of "soulmates" is incorporated as well. The love Hadleigh and Hudson share is incomparable by normal standards. I was invested from the first page until the very end. I knew these two were going to end up together with their HEA... we (the readers) just had to suffer a bit before they got their lol
Overall, I highly recommend this book for fans of soulmates and emotional books. I would say this is on the low scale of dark romance, more like romantic suspense. So, if you're looking to try out this genre, then this is a good beginner book. Buuuut, the spice is literally 🔥 but also super emotional because of the connection between the MCs.
