Initially, I felt Lexi was being unnecessarily difficult. In the already dangerous situation, there was no need for the talking in circles, etc. I liked that she had a backbone and could stand up for herself but at the start of the book, I just found her juvenile. Besides that one minor issue, I really enjoyed the book. It was a fast-paced enjoyable read. I will definitely be reading more from the author.

This was a very enjoyable installment of the Bad Boys Undercover series. The characters made it stand out from other books. Lexi was not only a strong female protagonist, but she also had a very sassy personality. Perhaps it could have been even more so. West, known as "the machine." was interesting in his own way because of his belief that his only value was as a killer. What I really enjoyed was the fact that both characters had self-esteem issues that showed up in different ways but made each character better able to understand the other. I'm looking forward to Facing Fire.

Characters: medical assistant, black ops guy
World Building: Pakistan, mountainous area
Plot: evading and tracking villains, very external
Sex: lots of tension, then pretty metaphorical (this seems to be the author's preferred mode)
Read another: Yes

Dimon's plots always keep me reading.
