4.5- big fan of Greek tragedies, will probably read more Sophocles soon. This was actually really funny in places, and some of the characters were very sassy! For being written so long ago, it surprised me how the dialogue translated so well into modern times. Pretty easy read, although some of the Chorus monologues I had to read a couple times to figure out exactly what they were trying to say. Not 5 stars because I didn’t like the ending

Odio el teatro. Creonte tirano tuvo su merecido, ni un deseo de apaciguar las cosas. Pero bien cobarde el pueblo que tienen que andar esperando que lleguen los dioses a través de Tiresias para juzgarlo.

Why is everyone fking their cousins….? I really wanted to get over that so I could actually appreciate the writing of this ancient greek tragedy(which sounds so cool like “yeah this it’s just like 2000 years old whatev”) but that’s hard to do when you realize how damn tight this family tree really is. Like seriously. There are no in-lows it’s just people’s cousins, MAYBE once removed but that’s it.
Antigone slayed. Call me sinister but I kinda liked it when everyone died at the end. Like Creon really didn’t see that one coming L.
Anyways the book was hard to read and I hate it for that. But it was also kinda poetic when it didn’t make me feel stupid.
