Wow.. hell a lot of information to absorb from one book. Space, Physics, Chemistry, Evolution, Ice Age, Atmosphere, etc, etc.. with so much information and history behind each of them. This one had to be read with a breather after every 2 chapters or so. Kudos to Bryson for having written it in such an approachable form.

I have recently got into reading Bill Bryson books and love his laid back and humorous writing. To this he adds a good amount of science which he mixes well with his excellent literary style. I really enjoyed the book even though it is now 20 years out of date.
