Steal me? More like kidnap me. This book is boring. The story is typical cheesy romance. A brooding hero saving damsel in distress heroine. The character development is non existing. The plot is super cheesy. The suspense makes it more horrible.

The chemistry is also cold between the heroine and the hero. The smut scenes are minimum and sound very force due to lack chemistry.

I'm a huge fan of Lauren Layne and automatically read anything she writes. This was another really enjoyable book. I like the way this series incorporates a bit of mystery into the story. I enjoy reading about the Moretti family and can't wait for more.

I’m fairly new to the greatness that is Lauren Layne, and I’m finding that the writing is always easy to get in to, and that she creates really great female characters that are strong on their own two feet. Along with that, we also get heroes who are self-sacrificing and deeply stubborn (but it’s fun).

Anthony Moretti has recently made Captain. His dreams and ambitions for his career have always taken first priority over everything, and he’s sort of walled himself off from life because of it. So set in his stubborn ways he’s reluctant to see Maggie as anything other than an annoying distraction. But when annoying gets to be too much, she becomes inherently attractive. Distractingly attractive. And it turns into an even bigger thing because she’s connected to his case…the case he’s having issues with solving.

Maggie Walker is a woman who takes care of others, and it’s no surprise that in her newest profession as a waitress, she becomes a beloved friend to the Moretti family that comes in every Sunday for brunch. And maybe it’s hard for her to keep her composure around the one Moretti, who both infuriates her and causes her breath to escape her lungs, so maybe she can’t help herself when most things she serve end up in his lap. Maggie may think of others more, but she’s incredibly vibrant and in a state of regrowth. She’s become stronger, wiser, and more sure of how important what she wants is.

The love/hate relationship between Anth and Maggie creates sharp sexual tension that zings through the pages. Their personalities clash constantly, and yet you can see them slowly open their eyes to one another; whether they want to or not. It was an incredibly easy book to read filled with wit, and hotness. Mix that in with a man in uniform and you’ve got WOAH. With a great cast of supporting characters, I can’t wait to keep seeing this family grow in future books, and, as ever, enjoy the great storytelling that comes from Ms. Layne.

This was so sweet! I enjoyed every second of Anthony and Maggie's story. I liked the writing, the details, and the build to them coming together. There is some animosity between the two in the beginning and I liked Anthony fighting to stay away from her but their pull was inevitable. I loved their flirting and chemistry. There is some drama mixed in giving it a bit of a romantic suspense vibe but it's not super in depth, just a nice amount of added conflict to keep people on their toes.

I liked Maggie so much. Strong and determined to make a better life for herself. I loved that perseverance and strength in her. Anthony was a bit more hit and miss for me. I liked him and understood his choices but even though I got why he made them, I didn't always like them. I pretty much wanted to smack him on several occasions and was thrilled when he finally got it together. He was just so stubborn and very jerk-ish sometimes. I liked him but oh man, that attitude! His struggle really is what helped to make this an awesome read though because I was waiting for that moment when everything would click for him.

I like the Moretti family a lot, there was such a fun dynamic there. I liked the siblings teasing each other and the male bonding between the brothers. Anthony's grandmother was a hoot. It was a really good cast of characters.

I felt this was a pretty easy read, totally enjoyable with a nice amount of detail pulling you in. I felt invested the whole time. I loved the storyline and thought it had a good flow overall. The ending was endearing though I did think the major conflict was over rather easily. All the loose ends were tied up nicely.

This was great read with a good mix of drama and heat and a whole lot of sweetness. Awesome story!

The second in the series was my least favorite. Anthony wasn't my favorite Moretti, but did wam up to me. Maggie is one strong lady! Yes she was an enabler for her father but sometimes family sucks. I loved how the Moretti's took her in immediatly! That Nonna is one fiesty woman!! Let her be a sharpshooter in deed!!

3.5 - 4 stars; I cannot decide.

Anthony is definitely my favourite out of the Moretti brothers (why am I always attracted to the broody ones?). I just love the Moretti family and their dynamics and banter--from the retired patriarch Tony to Maria to Nonna Teresa (I LOVE THIS WOMAN) to the Moretti siblings.

And I love love love that Maggie is an aspiring YA author! I love her writing process, the way she explained about writing teenagers, I find that really interesting.

Overall, I really enjoyed this, angst and everything. I'm probably going to give Luc's book another try sometime soon.
