3.5 stars - this was a pleasant read, and it wasn't like I expected it to be.

I enjoyed myself listening to Maggie's day to day life, barely surviving her work as a Tower of London's ticket booth girl and getting herself in all kinds of messy situations, and yes, that is literally speaking.

I have to admit I thought I knew how this story would go, and even though the ending is exactly what I expected, the journey to get there isn't. The road to happiness isn't a bumpy one, it hardly exists for Maggie.

The many horrible dates, the awful ex and how Maggie and Freddie keep sabotaging their own love story is what kept me listening (yes, I listened to the audio book). At the end, I half expected it not to be a happy ending, and I was prepared to go to war for Maggie's happiness.

Recommend this one if you want to read a feelgood romance that has it all: the humor, the lovable side characters, the found family, the mystery and of course the romance.

This was the weirdest romance I've read yet. It quickly became a hate read. How do you fall in love with a guy who is never around?? Why on earth did you make the FMC so clumsy that every time she dared move she fell over?? She's anxiety ridden and clearly has issues but because the end of the book is near, she's magically cured of all of them.

Also why is it when you realise that you fancy a guy, is when you decide to download tinder and go on dates?? The filler in this is awful and it feels like it's 90% of the book.

The only good thing was the pet doggos and birds, the fact it's based off a personal experience & the random history facts.

This book was everything and more! Saw it all over tiktok, finally got my hands on a copy and I fell in love with the characters instantly. This book made me so giddy and felt like a fairytale. I adored this book, it has my heart! The love that Freddie has for Maggie is all I want in life!!

Honestly, I've surprised myself with this one. I've been following Megan's story for a while but was still sceptical about reading her first book. I thought I was way past the cheesy rom com books I used to read as a teenager but I have been HOOKED!

This book was perfect for me, and at times reflected my own life struggles. I saw myself in the main character, Maggie, and I LOVED the humour. It was a predictable ending but it has been so well written that every page was truly gripping, and I still had major anxiety for her then proper tears of joy/relief at the end. Just wow.

Historical romance set in the all too relatable modern world of social media (and dating apps) is a book I never knew I needed! When is the next book out?

I picked this up looking for a easy read and I wasn’t disappointed. Not because it was easy, because I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I was two chapters from the end at the start of my working day and had to sneakily finish it under the desk

I enjoyed reading this! It’s not groundbreaking by any means, but fun nonetheless.
I liked the characters in the guard and the inhabitants of the tower.
The romance was slowburning, I’d have liked that to be a bit more and sooner.
I found the fmc a bit unlikeable sometimes. She’s very irresponsible when it comes to work (she’s very often either late or hungover). I recognize that her boss is horrible tho
