This was everything I wanted it to be and more! The darkest of the dark and spiciest of spice all combined into an amazing story of revenge and what goes around comes around. You need a stalker romance in your life, pick this on up asap! The FMC has amazing growth and becomes such a bad**s!

For fans of Haunting Adeline and The Ritual, but.. you needed it to be darker.

Good. God. (Pun intended).

This book was everything everyone said it’d be and more. At times I felt sick and twisted, then hot and bothered, then I was crying. Talk about emotional rollercoaster.

This was my first Jescie Hall book and damn did this leave a good first impression.

Step aside Zaddy, we’re making room for Aero now.

I liked the book but it is in no way as quality as Haunting Adeline. There are key things that are lacking. 1) the age gap in this scenario is disturbing as it implies he was fantasizing about her as a small child. 2) there’s no backstory as to how he knew her mother or why he felt compelled to watch over her for all these years. 3) Aero’s relationship with Baret…what? how? why? That just came out of nowhere with no explanation. 4) There was no internal conflict from the FMC. Her whole belief system got rocked and she was just like…cool…guess I’ll just go try some bondage now. WTF.

The premise of this book was good but super predictable. I appreciated the fact that Aero was a stalker with a purpose. With that said, one does not become a skilled assassin after just a couple of weeks in the woods - I don’t care how good the teacher is.

So while the book was readable and enjoyable, I think it had the potential to be sooo much better had the author taken more time to solidify some of these issues.

4.5 ⭐️. I really enjoyed this book. I liked how the couple came together in the end. My one complaint is that there were times where I was confused but I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to be. I will say all of the questions I had were answered in the end and in a way that made me go oh….. in a good way.
