Cute stories. “Blind date” made me think this would be contemporary romances but it was actually a mix of historical and contemporary.

Another fabulous anthology in the Timeless Romance collection! Since I met my husband on a blind date, I had a special connection to these stories which all feature a blind date in one way or another. I loved that three of the stories were historical (who knew you could write about a blind date in Regency England?) and three were contemporary. There was really only one story I had some suspense-of-belief issues with (I mean, really, what college graduate travels to live in a foreign country with no extra money and taking absolutely no thought ahead of time as to where she will live once she gets there?).
A couple of stories had connections to some of the author's previous works, but all worked as stand alone stories as well. A wonderful collection!

The Promise That Katy Did by Annette Lyon: Cute characters and concept, setting the blind date in pioneer times in a small, rural community in Utah. I would have loved to have more from this story -- more development, more time for Katy and Barry to develop their relationship and get to know them, and more of the back story about Sue Ellen and Heinz. I really enjoy these anthologies for a quick read.
A Lady of Sense by Sarah M. Eden: I loved this regency short story. Sarah Eden really does regency well. Her characters were entertaining and well developed in a few short chapters. I loved their interactions with each other, the humor they shared, and how they resolved their situation to work in their favor. A 5-star short story for sure!!!
A Second Chance by Heather B. Moore: A great short story. I really loved the characters of Max and Virginia, as well as her friend Milly. I would have loved to read this one as a longer story because of how much I enjoyed the characters, their first meeting, and how things developed. I definitely could see this one come together as a longer book. Interesting setting and so much potential for more. That's a good sign, when a story leaves you wanting more of the characters.
Braelynn's Blind Date by Victoria E. Lieske: A cute modern-day blind date story, with a little twist. I enjoyed the characters. They were well developed and had great interactions with each other as their story unfolded. I loved the Fizzy Swig soda company! I wanted to try (some - ha ha) of their drinks. Nathan's sculptures sounded so intriguing and beautiful and unique, that I definitely wanted to see what those would look like! It had a bit of a cheesy ending, but it was still a fun and thoroughly enjoyable read.
Bianca's Hope by Rachel Branton: Cute short story! I did feel like I was missing some of the back story, though, even though the story did a good job of covering the characters' current situation (under the title, it did mention it was a "Lucy's House novella"). This is another one I could see being developed into a longer story. I liked the changing perspective between Bianca and Stephen, and how Stephen worked to resolve Bianca's situation and their beginnings of more of a relationship. I also would love to see Bianca's pottery. It sounded so beautiful!
Blind Spot by Sariah Wilson: This one definitely gets 5 stars from me. I laughed out loud more than once while reading this story. Ria's actions, comments, and thoughts were just hilarious. The concept of being so obsessed with "getting the fairy tale" could have gone horribly wrong and been cheesy, but it was fun, entertaining, and funny. It was predictable, but I didn't mind because the journey was so much fun! This one left me wanting more! I wasn't through enjoying it! I am definitely going to be looking for more books from this author.
Overall, I really enjoyed this anthology. I read it faster than any of the others in the series. The stories were quick, entertaining, and fun. I always enjoy the anthologies in this series, but this one is probably one of my favorites!

I cannot in good conscience recommend this anthology to anyone. The only short story worth reading was Sarah M. Eden's. The other short stories were all problematic. And yet I read all of them. Please don't judge me. I blame the coronavirus.
