Just can’t get through it. Fucking awful and don’t have a clue what’s going on.
Disappointed cos the premise is so interesting but I just can’t go any further nevermind finish for my reading group.
Usually don’t mind lack of speech marks but when it’s multiple characters having a conversation together it means I’m not getting any character development. I don’t even know about our main character because I don’t know what’s being said by him or a side character.

3.5⭐️ This book, I was all over the place with it, loved parts, didn’t understand parts, had to reread parts, lost interest in parts, definitely had no idea where it was going and yet, I liked Western and am still thinking a lot about the book. Plus I’m a McCarthy fan

This is objectively a very good book I just didn't particularly like it, I'm not sure why. I have to begrudgingly give it a high rating for how good it is. I liked the reference to Alice and Bob but I found the physics talk to be a bit gauche. Maybe that's just because I don't particularly care about physics, so I was getting bored when they talked about it so much.
