i hesitate to give this anything above 3 stars because im not sure sensitive subjects were handled appropriately. i can definitely say there was toxic behavior that was called out and i can understand the reason for not continuing to go to therapy but it was just 😐😐😐. it just felt like a lot of shit that should have been dealt with outside the scope of a romantic relationship. feeling like this was written with a bit of a savior complex.

I needed a moment to process the story after I finished this one! It deals with very serious issues that happened both in the past and happen in the present (do check the content warnings!) but I felt it was written very well. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished, avoiding making dinner and everything. I felt every emotion for both Emerson and Grant, about everything they were going through. Very intense, and it was a very good book!
