Ah, now I understand volume 2 That was where a lot of the plot points came from, okay, that makes more sense of the one I read on Saturday.

This shows when people get hit by lightning and get the speed force and one of them is one of the detectives and he discovers what he can do and the power becomes very, very attractive.

Interesting and fills some gaps from the other one.

A strong book which, while also being a love letter for Flash fans, was a good introduction to Flash, his powers and general philosophy for new readers. I don't know much about Flash but I enjoyed it and the whole explanation of the Speed Force. The mystery was mostly well executed, though I guessed who the big baddy was and it was nice to see Barry Allen be optimistic and kind. I liked the whole desire to teach the new speedsters but I am glad that didn't morph into keeping track of a new dozen flashes or something.

However, despite the general competence of the story for me the book faltered. There wasn't enough differentiation on plot or tone to whole my interest over 6 comics. This should have been done in 4 instead. The pace drags and there is only so much running that I can see / read about before I just want it to be over. I get it - Flash is fast and his schtick is to run. But having every solution involved running gets repetitive. Maybe that is a Flash thing and this comic is not for me but I think they could have been a little more imaginative with the character.

Flash fans will likely love this. Overall, solid introduction job for non / new fans.

The Flash isn't one of my favorite characters, but I understand why his story is so important and essential to the overall theme of DC's Rebirth line. I'll be interesting in seeing where his character development goes in future volumes that I read and also how he plays into the overall concept that these characters have lost so much time.

Fine. Pretty forgettable. The Flash seems like a character that a writer should be able to do a lot with, but this is all just kind of fine. Some interesting ideas, but not a lot kept pulling me back in to the next issue.

The ending was decent and I am interested to see where this series goes, but most of the book was extremely boring. My least favorite superhero trope is when everyone randomly gets powers and the villain was incredibly predictable.

I am a semi-lapsed fan, beginning with the original Flash Rebirth by Geoff Johns.

One of the many reasons I like Flash comics because it combines drama and comedy in a pretty event ratio.

When Flash's partner gets struck by lightning and gets the Speed Force, I could tell that he was probably going to cross that line. However, when Godspeed shows up, I didn't automatically pick that was the partner. A city full of speedsters was a fun concept and return mostly to the status quo fairly naturally. The arch was long, but it didn't feel like a slog or anything.
