Moved pretty well, the ending felt rushed and left you hanging for the final installment. Which is a good thing.

I really enjoy the psionic and magical use in this book. It seems the author is even getting better in writing these fights.
The world is still what makes the books, this time it’s a story about Augis and Thifian so we get to see more cool psionic fights.
I really wish the author would explain how two (male) dwarfs are the fathers of all giants in the world, but the twist is kind of cool anyway.
Oh, and traveling on a Sea of Silt and fighting "beast-headed" giants is preaty cool!

As goofy and haphazard as the books before though it's a stronger effort. Still no characterisation worth a damn and they survive far too many hair-raising encounters than is plausible, even for fantasy fiction. It's a nasty place, is Athas.
