Every bit as good as the original. If you liked What If?, you'll like this. If you didn't like What If?, you might still like this, but you probably won't, and you probably aren't reading this review. If you have read neither What If? nor What If? 2 — do you like science when it's not being crammed into your brain for testing purposes? Do you enjoy learning things and also laughing at snarky humor and people being mildly ridiculous and having fun with it? Do you secretly wonder what would happen if you made a lava lamp out of real lava or if a t-rex was loose in NYC?

If so, read this book. You'll probably like it.

I liked the questions, and therefore the answers, of the first book better than this one. Nonetheless it was once again fun reading ridiculous but scientific answers to disturbing questions!

Always fun to read “What ifs”! How do people come up with these questions?

Didn't land in the same beloved way as the first one. Usually WW's narration is a + but for this title it detracted. It felt like the book was his personal playground and rather than narrating in a way that put Munroe's voice center stage, it was WW's voice foremost throughout- laughing at what he thought was funny, giving added opinions about things. I like WW well enough, but he needed to back off and put the author's voice, rather than his own, first.

So, so good. A rare book where the footnotes are laugh-out-loud funny.
