I don't want to say that this is a Magnum Opus, but it is damn close. Poetic and beautiful, moving in all the ways that writing should be. Hades is cruel, yet with Rex his beauty shined through. There is no true redemption here; just a soul who has found his match, his equal.

There are places where you will laugh and the sweetness of it will take your breath away.
I want to give the story away, save you the hurt and anger but I can't.

This was a delicious, twisted, dirty indulgence. It’s everything I look for in a “guilty pleasure”, hitting all those nasty spots perfectly. It is N A S T Y on all accounts and I LOVED it.

It’s definitely not a conventional love story, Hades, the MC, is as crooked as they come but as loyal to his loved ones as anything. I’m a sucker for the damaged, corrupt man who falls for a soft boy and that’s exactly what this is. I really liked, despite this trope which can be cliche, that Rex is a little spitfire. For all he’s a damsel in distress he’s got attitude and backbone and yearning for independence and a future.

The charactisation is fantastic throughout, you can really tell the swaps from Rex to Hades and I throughly enjoyed reading from Hades point of view (still in Third Person POV). The author wrote in a very unique way to convey Hades mind and it was an experience like no other.

With that being said, there’s some language use here some may find kind of cringey. I usually can’t stand the use of “baby butter” for several reasons but it WORKS here and so do a lot of the other strange, crude words.

With regards to plot there’s deep links throughout the novel for the next one (book three). There’s lots of loose ends and a cliffhanger ending, but that’s pretty easy to predict once you get to 90% completion and you’re still on an extended sex scene. I went to read some reviews for the next one because this book sets it up well for a MMM and the spoilers for the next book made it the decision for me. I’m going to just leave the story here and not proceed.

If you disregard the cliffhanger it works effectively as a stand-alone. It’s a solid steamy read and I may venture into this author’s other works but I think it’ll definitely depend on my mood. There’s a lot of dark angst as recurring themes from what I could skim of plots and man, I don’t know if I have it in me for another but this one, I could read a hundred times over.

Honestly I don't know how to rate that book because I was mostly disgusted while reading but also so fascinated that I just couldn't stop reading.

This was okay, but............. it did not give me what I wanted from a biker leather daddy romance. It did go hard at the romance, I'll give it that, but I was ultimately really unsatisfied with ........................... everything.
