Fifty pages in… why does this feel so familiar? Did I read it already? (This is the one used as the basis for the Tom Cruise movie.)

4.5, really good one. Biased because it's the source material for the first Tom Cruise movie that introduced me to one of the most important fictional figures in my life but it's a fun ride and a great introduction to the character. Good supporting cast, quality mystery, not overly violent, satisfying finale, a lot of Reacher creeping about and investigating, hilarious Sheryl Crow throughline. Obviously was visualizing the movie the whole time so that's unfair but still.

This also gave me an even bigger appreciation for the movie, which is such a slick adaptation. Smart to combine three characters into Helen Rodin and then cast Rosamund Pike to play her. And they set in the movie in Pittsburgh versus Indiana, huge upgrade.

At the end of three hours Franklin figured he would never find out, because Reacher fell off the radar after 1997. Completely and totally. There was no trace of him anywhere. He was still alive, according to the Social Security Administration. He wasn’t in prison, according to the NCIC. But he had disappeared. He had no credit rating. He wasn’t listed as title holder to any real estate, or automobiles, or boats. He had no debts. No liens. No address. No phone number. No warrants outstanding, no judgments entered. He wasn’t a husband. Wasn’t a father. He was a ghost.

I enjoyed this Reacher book a good amount. This reacher is more violent and more robotic than the movie version, but I did also really like the more depth this gave than the film. Good read!

I enjoyed the character and story line of Jack Reacher. Very thrilling, full of action and even suspense.
Definitely into reading more of the series.

I would of gave it a 4 stars but some parts of the book were dreadfully boring to read but other parts were actually interesting.

My favorite Jack Reacher so far. Believable. Enjoyable. The pieces of the mystery slowly revealed.
