This was a very comprehensive read, just as you'd expect from journalists. But at the halfway mark, the book pivots to the Brett Kavanaugh investigation, which I didn't expect or really want. And the endnotes begin at 69%, so it's a lot shorter than you'd think.

i don’t know why i started this with very low expectations…but it managed to be interesting and balanced without losing any of the gravity that the story deserves.

In my first year of studying journalism we went to watch this movie. After that, I also wanted to read the book. I was very inspired after reading this. It was really helpful in a lot of ways. I think every aspiring journalist should read this book or at least watch the movie. You can truly see the impact you can have with a story, which is why I wanted to become a journalist in the first place.

POWERFUL!

I watched the movie and was moved to tears by these brave women who rushed so much to stand up for justice and brave journalists who fought for truth to be heard. The book is even better than the film.

Does the story lose focus a little once the initial article is published? Yes, and it’s understandable why the film basically ends there. But the aftermath is so fascinating and powerful as the authors look at the ramifications (even punting to the Stormy Daniel situation which case had not been decided by time of publication) and the Kavanaugh hearings. Powerful, emotional, stuff.
And beautifully written and narrated by the authors. Highly highly recommend.
but it is clear in its descriptions of the assault that happens. So take your sensitivities into awareness when you read.
