Jani Nemo meets the world of H.P.Lovecraft. I love this sort of stuff.

I can't seem to like any installment of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen so far. Lovecraftian elemenets are pretty obvious in this one (it's practically Mountains of Madness) but still quite boring.

Waaaaay better than the main series purely for lack of gratuitous sex and tits (I guess that’s hard to justify in Antarctica).

Also the character arc makes sense to me too
Spoiler - Janni wants to do achieve something that brings her out of her her father’s shadow and dooms most of her crew due to her selfish clout chasing.
There’s a cause and effect here that makes way more sense than the main series, where often things happen, and it kinda makes sense but not emotionally (I guess?? Dunno what I’m trying to say here.)

Straightforward chase story that turns Lovecraftian. Decent enough.

I'm sure this book is good and I just didn't get it... But it was so jumpy, I often felt like the book was just highlighting favorite frames from some more complete story. It had the contours of a journey, but everything went by so quickly, and half the time it wasn't even clear to me what was going on.

I suspect that those are my problems, though, and not the book itself, and the parts I understand I like!
