If a short story collection can make me tear up I know it was a good one ❤

I consider Bradbury to be one of my favorite authors but this is my least favorite thing I’ve read of his (least favorite for him is still miles above other books). The best stories to me were The Inspired Chicken Motel, I Sing the Body Electric!, and The Haunting of the New with Heavy-set and Tomorrow’s Child as runner-ups. A lot of historical science fiction in here and a lot of Brit Lit nostalgia (a segue from Bradbury’s signature Americana), both working against my enjoyment. Also, not sure if it’s my age or society, but I noted this collection had a more sexist bend than I’m used to when I think about Bradbury’s writing. Still, the man has style and a hand on my heartstrings and I’m glad to have read this collection.

Favorite two: Haunting of the New, Electric Grandmother.

The writing was great, and I liked almost all the stories, but there were only a few that I "really liked" based simply I think on the content of what they happened to be about.
