The inspiration for the Ron-Perlman led movie(s) of the same name, Hellboy - like the lead character - is sort of a strange mix: in this case, of the occult with the medium of the graphic novel with a very Cthulu-like monster at the end of the tale.
I also have to say that this is proof that Marvel and DC aren't the only two publishers in the world able to produce compelling and enjoyable reads!

Im using vol. one as a stand in for volumes 1-4. Im a big fan of the Hellboy movies so Ive been excited to read some of the comics. This set's story was interesting but I would have prefered more paranormal or worldly information but that's just me being greedy.

Short but good story
I'm a huge fan of the Hellboy movies so I've been wanting to read the comics. I would have prefered an omnibus but this volume was for check out on amazon prime and I couldn't pass it up. The lack of star rating is more of a personal preference to graphic novels versus single comics. The story was interesting although short.
