I do not care for Galligan's drawing style (which reminds me of Archie comics) after having enjoyed Telegmeirer's interpretations for the first 4 books. I'm probably more bothered by this than I should be.

I picked this graphic novel up as a quick and causal read, and didn’t expect anything from the plot, so I am quite surprised at how eloquent the story was. The plot revolved around three completely different conflicts with such artistic flow that none took a priority over the other. However, that’s also where I’m left disappointed with the story as we never actually get a complete picture of what happens in the end, making the story more ambitious for it’s own good. Yet, I think this also adds the realistic twist to the plot, as the conflicts depicted aren’t ones that easily resolve through casual interactions and require progression and time to heal. However, I still want a BETTER ENDING.
(Disclaimer: I haven’t really read any of the other novels in this series, so maybe the plot progresses later on, which is a brilliant marketing trick to get the readers to read more of the books. But it might not be, because I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything without reading four of the preceding books. I guess I’ll never know.)
