My favorite poem titled, "Christmas poem to a man in jail" is found in this powerful book of Bukowski writings. This book helped me remember why I feel so alive when I digest the words and even simply just seeing them displayed on the page.

"I will remember the kisses / our lips raw with love / and how you gave me / everything you had / and how I / offered you what was left of / me, / and I will remember your small room / the feel of you / the light in the window / your records / your books / our morning coffee / our noons our nights / our bodies spilled together / sleeping / the tiny flowing currents / immediate and forever"

Some great ones and some super misogynistic and weird ones. So basically the usual Bukowski.

Bukowski is my favorite author, and once again he delivers great poems about pretty much anything. He writes about ugliness, boredom, gambling, violence, death, drinking and anything he likes and hates. Saying new things about Bukowski is hard because he is so beloved so I'll just say that I love his work, once again.

1- New Yorker okumayı seviyormuş. 2-John Fante'yi o keşfetmiş, o muhteşem yazarın karanlıkta kaybolup gitmesinin önüne geçmiş, 3-Hayvanat Bahçesinde şiiri.

What more can I say about Buk that I haven’t said before? Era defining poetry.
