Gabriel Garcia Marquez's writing style is so enchanting.

"El mundo estaba triste desde el martes. El cielo y el mar eran una misma cosa de ceniza, y las arenas de la playa, que en marzo fulguraban como polvo de lumbre, se habían convertido en un caldo de lodo y mariscos podridos."

Humans are greedy and insufferable, this is all what the story has to say. The elements the author used to create the symbolism wasn’t my favorite, The premise was interesting yet reading It didn’t make me feel anything.

I was really excited to spot this in my vicinity because I'd been curious about 100 years of Solitude for a while. Also, I was excited because the author was mentioned in Hauraki Murakami's short story TV People, which I recently read, and literary-ception is my favourite thing in the world.
I did think the writing was very well crafted, which is what I think GGM is particularly known for. Although the short story wouldn't have been worth reading for the writing style alone.
I didn't find myself particularly attached or moved by this story, emotionally it was like meh. Although I could see it being a good piece to engage with if you are into literary analysis. Not sure what or if the angel itself is supposed to mean anything though. But doesn't really matter, the thematic/philosophical fruit of this story is more in how the other people (and overall community) around him react/engage with him and his wings.
