Generally a good read, a little wordy though the use of language is pleasant. I liked that the students are smart but flawed and not good at everything. Yet, the skills that they were taught seemed pretentious in the way they are regarded to be sooo extraordinary, but basically you just hear them have basic discussions on grammar and fundamental philosophical principles… not that crazy tbh. Also, I felt like the character of Julian was a little empty.

I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. It's a near perfect book for me. I completely get the hype now, I just needed some time to get used to the writing style, and some portions of the book were definitely unescessary.

I've been sitting on this review for over a week because I just can't wrap my head around what I feel. There were parts of this book that felt like they dragged, and a lot of content that wasn't quite what I was expecting (definitely read the trigger warnings for this) and did not seem like they added anything to the story. That being said, the first piece of the book and last piece had me locked in and I can't seem to stop thinking about this book. I found it also a quite unique story line with unique characters that felt well developed and flushed out.
