Was a bit disappointed that this book didn't really wrap up anything from the first two and seemed to go in a completely different direction. Also didn't explain Dan's abilities whatsoever (unless I missed something?).

whole series read like a middle grade and the characters act like 14 year olds, not adults.
I bought these books a while ago because i wanted something creepy to read but all i got was annoying and bland characters and tacky stock images strewn between pages

A fantastic ending to a fantastic trilogy. I loved the story, was amazed by the twists and fell in love with the characters all over again. Only one complaint, spoiler here, Finnoway? Obvious. It's always the politicians. Other than that, it's a five star book. Sad to say goodbye to Dan, Abby and Jordan, but they'll always have a special place in my heart.

Unfortunately this is my least favourite of the series. There were elements in this that I enjoyed - New Orleans, the macabre bone snatchers, the cult.
However it just felt really rushed and not plausible at all. I realise that this series isn’t really rooted in reality or plausibility but this one felt really lacklustre and forced. I didn’t really enjoy it and felt like it was more of a money grab as opposed to writing it because the author was passionate about telling the story.

I was unsure if this series could get any better but I was wrong as soon as I read this book. Everything in the first three books leading up to this book were intriguing but this one in particular I devoured. I am a little sadden to see there isn't another connected book that follows this same story line, especially because we get to meet Dan's real mother and the book basically ends with her saying she will see him again soon. I am excited to read the prequel book and the novellas though!

While I found myself grasping for straws in the connection between Brookline and the setting of catacomb I guess it didn’t really matter. It was an intriguing plot in and of itself with a few mentions but the idea behind it felt a little far fetched considering the talk of voodoo talismans that we never really saw come into play despite how much was mentioned. I wanted more magic than there was but still I found this book more exciting than the first two.
