A lovely and relatable MG novel about finding yourself, your voice, and your people (or dragons). Highly recommend.

A very sweet book! I am a sucker for middle grade books in verse, so of course I had to pick this one up. At first the prose was a tiny bit clunky but I got into the groove soon enough. It's kind of hard to read for a while, this poor girl feels pretty gaslit and outcast due to her differences to her classmates. She's bullied, and it takes a long time for her to learn her differences aren't something wrong with her. Eventually she's able to identify with the autism spectrum and it's such a relief (for me reading and for her own mind) when she gets that validation.
Also touches on how schools can be awful and unaccommodating for students' differences for an equitable learning experience, even though they're legally required too.

I didn’t know how much I needed Selah’s story until I had it in my hands. Kuyatt has written a beautifully heartfelt and relatable story about the challenges and joys of being yourself, especially when the world was not built with you in mind.
