I took this short story as a break out start in historical romance writing from the author. I loved the entertainment in the story. I enjoyed reading the characters in the book. They offered a lot of details to the visual aspects of the book. The dialogue was great along with the accents of the characters. The book is an easy read with a great romantic love story. The writer did a great job with the j book.

This was an enjoyable short story about a newly married couple finding their way in the bedroom and navigating the compromises that come with a partnership.

I was impressed with the character development in such a short story and I look forward to checking out more of Maggie Sims' novels.

Just an aside...although it has spanking, the bdsm elements are pretty low-key.

emotional funny lighthearted slow-paced

Wickedly delightful! Having read this last, I have a new found respect for Roslynn. She is a formidable character full of tenacity, spunk and sass. Her strength is evident in all of her choices, and she is a firm advocate for her own desires as well as others. There were so many interactions between her and Nicolas that had me grinning like a fool. Her lighthearted approach at life is indeed infectious. Obviously the steam is a strong play in this book, but their partnership is what really stole the show. Communication is rarely a strong suit in a romance but this is truly where they shine. Nicolas while appearing stubborn, is softened by his motivations. Everything he does, even from the very start of their relationship, is purely to protect Ros. You can’t help but love him for it. A great read full of heat and heart!

This is a cute story. Both of the characters are wholesome and well-intentioned. This is a short novella, on the simple side, we don't get as much if a look into their thought process and reasoning as I would like. How did this virgin become such a forward thinking sex kitten? I don't need an elaborate explanation, but an explanation would help bring this to life.

I like that the story touched on the difference between pain for pleasure vs punishment.
