cute quick read. i liked the layout of it - every love story had their own set of chapters and the book was just a compilation of them; they were all linked together of course so it was still somewhat a coherent story. it's been a while since i've read this series so i really didn't know who the first couple was, haha.

This little novella comes between the third and last books in the Fallen series. It is split into four small stories each centered around the love of one of the main characters on a Valentine’s Day in the medieval period. Although it makes a good story I find it a bit unrealistic that in the whole of the time between the Fall and modern days, Arriane’s only love, Roland’s only love, and Daniel and Luce’s only Valentine’s Day (clearly not including all of the ones they will spend together as mortals, so as not to give away the end of the series) all occurred in the same year. Not only that but it is the day that Shelby and Miles happen to land in when jumping through the announcers, just at the point when their love blossoms! I did like the way in which each of the four stories are at the same time very separate and yet link together to form one intricate tale.
I found Miles and Shelby’s story very cute, the way they each went out to buy presents for Daniel and Luce and came back with presents for each other. I like the way that the moment Shelby realises how much Miles’ hat means to him she becomes single-mindedly determined to get it back for him. The way that Kate made Miles’ lose his hat and then Shelby trade her hairband meant that they each got to see the other as more open than they usually would. This helped in symbolising the way in which they were starting to see the real person in each other that is normally kept hidden.
Roland’s story was interesting as within the series Roland is a mysterious character and you do not learn that much about him. It was set out like a typical Romeo and Juliet come Rapunzel tale. This was my least favourite of the four stories, but was still enjoyable to read.
Arriane’s story took me surprise because I had not realised that she was a lesbian, I am not sure that it was mentioned outright in the series. I enjoyed her story though; she and Tess made a really cute couple. Somehow their being on opposite sides just made their love even more precious. It was nice to finally know how Arriane got the scar on her neck and that there was a heart-breaking story of lost love behind it.
Daniel and Luce’s story seems like just another in the long list of the lives together. I appreciated the small hints at the true nature of “Bill” that were scattered at the start. This was quite a good story, but not as good as some of the other past lives that the couple have spent together. I liked the scene where Daniel presents Luce with the clearing full of peonies and candles. It annoyed me that it was written from the point of view of the modern Luce coven into the medieval Lucinda. I would have liked it to have been just from medieval Lucinda’s perspective but I can see how having Luce’s cloven perspective makes it fit in with the rest of the stories and the series as a whole.
Although a lovely little book, it is not quite up to the standard of the rest of the series and therefore loses a star and receives four stars.

This was a cute novella that was about Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t just about Sam and Daniel, it gave romance stories about a few of the main characters. This is right right before they are all back in present time.

Honestly the reason I’m drawn to this series is the supporting characters. I wish this book hadn’t centred around Luce and Daniel and could have just been about the other characters on their own. Luce and Daniel are great an all but I wish their chapter was taken out to give Arriane and Roland more pages. Their stories are so interesting and I love the complexities of their characters. I would have loved to have seen Gabbe and even Molly have their own story. Yeah Luce and Daniel’s curse is the centre of the story but seeing the other characters outside of that is really interesting and I wish it had been explored more.

I felt like it was unnecessary to make a book from this story. There were already like 5 books and it really was fun to read but It was a little exaggerated and there was given information that you already knew.

This book follows the characters in the Fallen series how have gone back in time. Through out the story, the reader sees what happens on Valentine's day for several of the characters and what happens to them. I would recommend this book if to anyone who likes this series.

this was really really hard to get through, you could say pointless really. i never give up on books, however this book came close. I gave it 2* for the Daniel/Luce story at the end but I still think I'm being generous! The only positive is the preview of Rapture which was really really good, definitely whet my appetite for the next book! Can't wait!!!

Did you know that I didn't need to read this book to understand the upcoming and last book in the "Fallen" series? Yeah, me neither.
This was a "complementary" story, that will help the reader understand Luce's and Daniel's love. What a joke. This book is about the only Valentine's Day they spent together, and every chapter is about a different couple of characters.
1. Shelby and Miles: It was nice reading this, even when I can't understand how just one night changed the way they felt about each other. Still, this was cute and fun, and tad bit cliché.
2. Roland and Rosaline: This was the best story of the whole book. Romantic to the bone. Amazing story about how we don't know what we have until it's gone, and when it comes to love, this is one of the most tragic scenarios. I loved it.
3. Arriane and Tess: This was the story that made me love Arriane. Her relationship was doomed. This was a bit heartbreaking. What should you do when you fall in love with someone who doesn't share your morals and beliefs? And in this story, the differences go beyond just values, its about good and evil, love and hate, sacrifice. What would you do to be with the one you love? Amazing, I loved this story.
4. Luce and Daniel: Of course this was the longest part but I can't complain. It was a nice story. It made me love Daniel. I like him now. It was romantic and tad sad too, but I liked it. It was enlightening but it was entertaining.
The thing with this book is that I enjoyed reading these love stories, they were nice. But I'm still at the same confused place, I haven't learned much from this and my questions are still unanswered. I don't quite understand the purpose of this book, sorry.
Now, I cannot wait to read "Rapture", the final installment in the Fallen Series. Will LK answer all my questions? I don't know, but I'm sure I won't like the answer.

Loved it! All four stories were really good, I loved learning the backstory of Roland and Arriane, that was a treat! And Shelby and Miles' story was super cute and of course Luce's and Daniel's story was awesome! It's great how it continued the story from Passion and that it ties into Rapture.
