"Cath felt like she was swimming in words. Drowning in them, sometimes."

I can see why people prefer this over Eleanor and Park. As always, Rainbow Rowell never ceases to amaze me with her wit, style, and humor.

10/10 would read all over again. It's the kind that makes you wish your memory were wiped out, just so you could experience it all again for the first time.

A wonderful teen coming-of-age college story, that - having friends who used to be all over fandoms (and sort of still are, to be honest) - I could relate to a lot! Loveable characters and well researched internet culture, which wasn't treated as something a character had to grow out of or move on from, but as a part of their life that was legitimate, even if maybe sometimes it was a bit too all-consuming.
Definitely recommended for older teens, especially other fangirls :D

I love this book just as much as I did the first time I read it, if not more. I didn't want it to end! I just want to read about Cath and Levi forever. This book makes me want to write fanfic about it! So meta lol. Rainbow Rowell has this way of making you fall in love with regular everyday people and what they're going through. Cath's fears are so palpable, and everything about her life has a depth that makes her feel like a real friend. I feel like I should be able to catch up with her and see how things are going. God I love this book. I know RR says there won't be a sequel, but a girl can dream.

This was my first contemporary book that I’ve read since 2017 and it hit me RIGHT in the feels ❤️ I truly felt like I had been transported back to my first year of university. Cath’s mental health was written in such a raw way and I love how her relationship with Levi grew throughout the book. I also loved the snippets of Snowbaz, but overall it was well written just made me a little sad.

“In new situations, all the trickiest rules are the ones nobody bothers to explain to you. (And the ones you can't Google.)”
This is my first Rainbow Rowell book and I love her now! I love this book till infinity and beyond!

A well-written coming of age novel, Fangirl follows Cath's journey as she navigates the world of university and discovers her identity separate from that of her twin. Lost completely in a fictional fantasy world, Cath spends most of her time writing fan-fiction revolving around the fictional characters of Simon Snow and his arch enemy Baz. Having grown up as a twin, Cath is more dependent on Wren and a huge introvert.

This story not only brings out the contrast between the two girls, but it shows us that the world has a lot to offer if we only let it. Cath learns to find her way, forming a weird bond with her roommate, finding love and facing betrayal.
Fangirl is real, the romance is real the people are real the issues they deal with are real . I am asking you to read it because its not just about fan fiction, this charming quick paced read dealing with issues of social anxiety, family, friendship.
P.S. The excerpts form the fan fiction that Cath wrote have been given in the end of every chapter, but oh god I found them boring so I kinda never read the fanfic.

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
