Unfortunately this isn't a book I really connected with. Its very middle of the road so I don't have much to say. I will say I had trouble connecting to Scottie and the only part of the book that intrigued me was Irene.

It is so exceedingly rare for me to say this about a YA contemporary but ... I genuinely wish this was longer. So cute, so fun, and a great sapphic sports read I didn't want to end!

This was sweet, campy, and surprisingly powerful when it came to grief & heartbreak (especially when it comes to the heartbreak of a toxic relationship). It was the perfect enemies-to-lovers balance as well. Overall sports dramas aren't entirely my thing but I was rooting for Irene & Scottie so hard the entire time.

Irene is a boss bitch and I am here for it. I loved how well thought out and complex the characters were.

So, I don't love romance books. Fake dating books make me roll my eyes so hard it's a miracle I don't pass out. But for some reason I really enjoyed this. I mean, "I read it in a day" enjoyed this.
While it's a queer love story, there is so much more to it than that. I was really surprised by how much I liked it.

This was so cute and fed my angst for queer drama enough. I’m always in for enemies to lovers stuff bc yes, and well Scottie being into basketball and into romcoms (movies in general) is relatable. I had so much fun while reading, loved the interactions between Scottie and Irene, because both have interesting personalities and goals.
