I would give this 6 stars if I could. So, so excellent. Kamala doesn't even show up until the middle of the fourth issue in this volume and those issues are still fantastic without her. People who are not reading Ms. Marvel should reassess their life choices.

I couldn't put this one down. Kamala has disappeared while she tries to recover from the last issues, so her friends take up the Ms. Marvel mantle and try to protect the city. As someone currently struggling with work burnout, I find that Kamala's story resonates and is a bit cathartic. It's a sweet story of friendship, the bravery of non-supers, and some sweet teenage romance thrown in. And I loved the surprise special guest!

The first part of this book was 3.5 stars... until Kamala showed up, and then it was definitely 5 stars. So I’m compromising at 4ish. I absolutely love the way the series is going at this point; I’m super attached to the characters and I’m really happy with the relationships and progression of time. I can’t wait for the next volume!

Uh, well, I’ll give the writers this, this one was definitely different. I’m not really sure if that was necessarily a good thing as I really didn’t love how they handled Kampala’s realizations from the end of the previous volume. The love triangle/square was also just unnecessary since it wraps up pretty quickly, even if I was happy to see Bruno again. The villain in that issue was also completely unnecessary and could have been a throwaway instead.

Якось серія відчутно здала останні декілька томів, і схоже, це відчув не тільки я. Бо останні два випуски цього тому були присвячені тому, щоб доволі поспішно замінити одного героя на іншого, тим самим відновивши статус-кво. Сподіваюся, з його відновленням серія повернеться на рівень перших томів.
Також відзначу зі знаком "мінус" дивного персонажа з Ваканди, який приїхав в Америку досліджувати шлюбні ритуали підлітків з країни, що розвивається (тобто США). Я розумію, що жарт у тому, що у всесвіті Марвел найрозвиненіша країна розташована в Африці, але це виглядало просто абсурдно, ніби він виріс не в ізольованій Ваканді, а в ізольованій коробці без книжок, інтернету і фільмів.
Ну і в останньому випуску екшн-сцена розкадрована настільки невдало, що Камала з'являється буквально нізвідки, і я навіть спочатку подумав, що в мене переплутався порядок сторінок. Але ні, це просто так було все це прописано.
