This took courage and vulnerability on a level that I’m not sure I’ll ever reach. I saw another review that mentioned this sounding like a private conversation, and I agree. As I tend to with memoirs, I listened to the audiobook, and it was a privilege to hear Roxanne narrate her own story.

This was an eye-opening, thought-provoking memoir that I think everyone, especially those who are not fat, should read. Roxane Gay is a master of writing.
