This was an eye-opening, thought-provoking memoir that I think everyone, especially those who are not fat, should read. Roxane Gay is a master of writing.

A great book, such difficult subject matter but Roxane Gay does an amazing job at telling her story. I felt so connected to her and so aware the whole time I was reading. Made me very aware of my body and confronted many of the same thoughts I have about what it feels like to exist and move in this world. Also made me more aware of how others may feel. Why have we come to a point where we all have to be so obsessed with our bodies and how do we escape this?

Roxane Gay is such a masterful writer that I felt in good hands reading about sensitive topics. I'm glad I read this though it was difficult to find my footing sometimes in all the dark and troubling details. It's candid, sad, angering, challenging at once. Yet it was compelling and clever. It's my second Roxane Gay and I will surely read more in the future. Her perspective and wit are great.
