Reading this in June 2024 after Download Fest really brings a whole new layer of appreciation of how far Fall Out Boy has come, but more importantly Joe’s  part inside and outside of that as well

I loved this memoir! It gave me so much insight into my absolute favorite band. Seeing how much turmoil he went through in his youth with a very mentally abusive mother and then navigating life with intense insecurities, imposter syndrome, and terrible depression felt so human considering he’s a rock star. It was an easy read and only gets a 4 star because sometimes his self depreciation and ramblings went on too long. Other than that it’s a great read.

A well written memoir that mixes humor and reflection in perfect balance. Each chapter stands alone as an essay, so this results in repeated moments or memories to orient the reader. That gave a lot of "deja vu", though it still had a good flow. I really liked how it went well beyond "that guy from Fall Out Boy" to outline Joe's life, hopes, and challenges.
