I guess I liked some things about it. It's hard not to find geese & saintly, animal-loving hermits cute. The long-blond-haired, violet-eyed, Anglo-Saxon heroine is described as "primitive," & needs a man to explain to her what war and an airplane is because she's never heard of them before. One chapter is unreadable because it's written entirely in an awful unfunny Cockney dialect.
The story is as saccharine as a sugar-pie lovingly baked by an old lady. I feel guilty about not liking it. After all, it's baked just right.
