Michael takes Karma in the beginning because of a debt of her father. And to pay back the debt she marries him but she not usually mafia wife. Karma will go head to head with him all the time. Their journey is incredible. And this boxset contains their story. You will see all their ups and downs. Some will bring you tears and other will make you scream. But in the end you will see both fall in love with each other. The narrator Jason Clarke & Roxy Isles did a remarkable job bring all the characters to life.

This trilogy introduces the Sovrano Family and brings the first three books in the series together in one set. There is quite a bit going on initially as it establishes the wider family while also focusing on Michael Byron Domenico Sovrano (Mika) who is the Capo of his Family and Karma. We first meet Karma as a periphery character in her sister Summer and Sinclair's book and finally she has her own story. It would be useful to read The Big Bad Billionaires series as some of the stories are mentioned in this new series (which I didn’t and then just had to read this series too!). Be aware there are triggers in these books so read responsibly.

Mafia King Book One:

Karma’s father was involved in some very dodgy dealing and now Michael has come to collect. He takes Karma back to Sicily and ultimately forces her into marriage. Maybe at first he took Karma as retribution but ultimately he does develop feelings for her. Karma is quite young and can be bratty at times but she can definitely hold her own. Karma does have a life threatening health condition which she does keep to herself.

Both Michael and Karma are very strong characters and the chemistry between them is undeniable. The book does delve into quite dark themes but they do add to the storytelling and character development. Whilst it’s clear that Michael can be very ruthless and decisive when he wants to be he’s drawn to Karma in a way he’s never been before with anyone else. Michael and Karma definitely push each other to the limit but always go back for more. I also enjoyed the relationship Michael has with his brothers but it’ll definitely be interesting to see how things pan out with Luca but to be clear he isn’t the only problem within the Family

There are lots of twists and turns and it was quite a thrilling read. This book sets up a lot of threads for the next books and ends on a cliffhanger but as it’s part of the box set the good thing is you can jump straight into the next book.

Mafia Queen Book Two:

This story picks up straight up where book one left off with Karma finally free of Michael but she’s not really. She’s not ready to say goodbye and to find out that the whack to Michael’s head may be a bit more permanent than she intended well it’s time to face the music and the Family. And what a fright she had at the ‘funeral’, ultimately Michael and Karma can’t keep away from each other despite the start they had and could not let each other go. Karma was Michael’s be all and end all and despite an unconventional start her safety and well-being are everything to him and consequently his brothers. I enjoyed how Karma developed a relationship with the brothers given how she and Michael have been known to get a little bit violent with each other!

All goes well until Karma decides that she wants more freedom and lean how to drive….wow what a cliffhanger.

Mafia War Book Three:

Well that was both an explosive and heartbreaking start, the book started quite literally with a bang and the action did not let up. Unfortunately Karma was badly injured which had a devastating and long reaching affect on both Michael and Karma as well as the rest of the family. Who is out to kill them and who can they trust given the body blow the brothers have received. Michael is vulnerable now because of his feelings for Karma while also coming to terms with his losses. But all the brothers can do is dig in and prove to those that are out to get them not to underestimate the Sovrano Family even if one of those enemies is close to home,

Wow this book is one emotional read it was fast paced, well written and a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy. It ties up loose ends but also sets the scene for the rest of the series.

I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy and thoroughly enjoyed these books. The characters are well written and the books draw you in until your immersed in all things Sovrano and all you can do is go for it and read all the books in the series!

Beauty and the Beast is the first three-book collection of the Arranged Marriage series by L. Steele. These three books follow the relationship between Karma and Michael and Michael's rise to be the next Don of the Costra Nostra.

This boxset had mafia action-packed, twists, turns, spice and HEA. The only thing I didn't like, was book two. I felt like that could have been split up and added to book one and/or book three. I understand why it was written, but in my opinion it was too drawn out.

I am a fan of L. Steele and love her writing of mafia. I definitely recommend her books.

Rating: 4/5
Spice: 3/5
Trope: Mafia, arranged marriage, forced proximity, age gap, alpha male

This was an interesting and entertaining read that was definitely on the darker side of things but as both characters were into it, it worked for me. I was definitely glad to have all 3 books for Mica and Karma’s story together at one time as they definitely leave things unfinished between them. Mica and Karma do a lot of arguing and back and forth without always communicating with each other and it got a little frustrating at times. They wanted each other, they just wouldn’t admit it and try and make it work before they did something stupid but they kept being pulled back together. There was plenty of action and intrigue in this story as well as someone is trying to sabotage them.

* Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and the author for giving me an arc of this book. *

I’m reading this series backwards so I’ve read the last 3 books and now I’m reading the rest and I must say that in the last book of the series I was worried with Michael and Karma’s relationship cause Karma is making a questionable move since Serb’s book. With that said, I have been liking a lot when they appear in the other books and that’s why I’m reading their story now.

Part one was very enjoyable although I was on the fence about Michael cause he had his moments but he also made/ said a lot of questionable things. Obviously we only get a bit of pieces of information of him so I’m definitely intrigued in how this whole relationship is gonna work out.
Karma is funny as her sister Summer was to me because of the whole filme quotes and stuff and I liked that. She’s also very headstrong as Michael is so they tongue lash each other every time. She’s also very fiery and that almost never works for her cause their chemistry is definitely there working overtime.
I’m still not really sold on what’s happening but the way this ended got me excited for more and thank god the next book is available now.

Part two- Michael is changing little by little. I wasn’t expecting this elaborate plan that he orchestrated but I also knew he was out there ready to pounce. I didn’t believe Luca and already read his book but this situation he’s in is still giving me anxiety.
Michael is very alpha in this one and that really shows through the story. That’s to say that I love an alpha but to me he sometimes can be over the top but all of his possessive has a reason so I get it but I’m also like “get your act together and act a bit normal” but alas, what can I do? I’m still buying into all of his feelings and I’m loving him so there’s that.
Karma on the other hand I’m not really sure what to feel about her at the moment. She has every right to be mad about certain things but she can also get on my nerves with her stubbornness and her unwillingness to accept her feelings and what Michael wants to give her. Now granted, Michael doesn’t even know to express feelings and whenever he tries, I just wanna smack my head cause it’s that painful but I’m confident they will get better at communicating. I already saw improvement but more on a superficial level so I’m very intrigued to what’s next and how they finally cement their relationship.
The damn cliffhanger tho? I honestly pity the readers that had to wait for the third book in this series. It must’ve been painful and I’m over the moon with the fact that I’m reading it now that they’re out and I can binge them.

Part three- this was a good conclusion of the trilogy. The damn cat, Andy, is so adorable. He’s my favorite

I loved Karma and Michaels story the chemistry between was palpable from the start . Karma was so funny with the things she threw back at Michael I giggled at her on several occasions. Michael was intent on never letting Karma know he had fell in love with her but you could tell in the ways he let her get away with things others would have been killed for. I’m looking forward to listening to Christian and Auroras story.
