The premise of this story drew me in but the plot was as stilted and meandering as the characters’ journey. There was a lot of heavy issues that happened in passing but all were at a YA appropriate level. The final twist wasn’t that surprising and with the lack of character building I don’t know that I will bother reading the second book.
