This has a lot of text for a board book, but has a great use of repetition and introduces young children to a community helper. None of the trash truck is automated and there is no mention of recycling, making it obvious how out of date this 1999 book has become.

It's your better than average truck book that has a good use of repetition and rhythm to follow the garbage man as he goes through his day picking up trash throughout the town. My son got a kick out of how the garbage man ended his day (spoiler alert: a bath!)

Mr. Gilly, the trash collector, goes all around town filling up his garbage truck. Simple, yet colorful illustrations.

A fun book to read aloud, lots of rhyme, and opportunity for adults to make fun of the word choices.

Perfectly fine story time selection. Kids are fascinated by garbage trucks.

Cute enough. I think it would pair well with "I Stink" for a storytime.

Ben's a great fan of this one & of the DVD version. Really great for 3 year old boys who love trucks, etc.
