Meh. It was slow and boring. The language and style were antiquated. I very much disliked that Christianity were an integral part of an alternative world. I didn't like that the evil witch was a White witch. There were parts I did like. I liked that I didn't like Edmond, I like that he changed and grew. I liked the magic and the creatures. It was ok but I'll never reread it or read it to the boys. Meh!

I hold a great respect for the author and his stories. For some reason this is a good Christmas book for me.

to quote a tweet I love:

the line "Do not cite the deep magic to me, Witch. I was there when it was written" is way too raw to be from fucking narnia lmao
