Cool concept, but soooo much meaningless jargon + significant YA vibes = not for me right now.

The story of Paige Mahoney is an intense one. Samantha Shannon has the ability to create fully formed worlds that you immediately feel immersed in. The Bone Season is the first book in a world I truly can not wait to revisit.

The story is enticing with twists and turns that I truly was not expecting. Throughout the next stories I can only hope that some of the confusion is cleared up and more adventure awaits.

Interesting book. Wide range of characters, which I hope we'll learn more about in the next parts of the series. The book takes a bit of getting in to and there are some heartbreaking moments, but overall very enjoyable.

This was amazing!! Samantha Shannon has become one of my favourite authors and she can do no wrong (imo). I can't wait for the other revised books in the series to be published in May 2024!

3.5 stars, but rounded up for the world building.

I have mixed feelings on this. It was an interesting read, but I didn't feel attached to any of the characters. The world building was amazing, but it also meant there was so much new information / detail being thrown my way that it was hard to ensure I actually understood what I was reading. The plot was alright, even if I did end up questioning several of the characters' (mostly Paige's) actions. Overall, it was a good read but it never really hooked me in.
