Something's a little off with the translation and it's not guaranteed to hold a younger child's interest but the pictures are gorgeous.

Christopher's Harvest is a timeless story introducing children to the moods and elements of Autumn. Christopher unexpectedly goes on a tour of his family’s gardens as he tries to recover his lost ball. As Christopher is led through the garden by Mother Nature’s child September, the playful sprites that inhabit the garden send them on a merry chase, with riddles, songs, games, and dancing. Christopher is a well known figure in the garden, even though he has been unaware of the beings that live there. Rich with vocabulary, imaginative imagery, and Elsa Beskow’s beautiful classical illustrations, Christopher’s harvest makes a great story to read to older preschool and kindergarten aged children, and early grades children will delight in reading on their own. There are many opportunities for enrichment as instruments can be set to the songs, and children will delight in “dancing in a merry ring” like the characters in the story.
