Ariadne weaves a tale of women and the price they pay for the sins of the men in their lives. It takes a character of myth who is often forgotten and ties her story to that of every woman who has paid for someone else’s wrongdoing.

I enjoyed every second of this book. I was familiar with the titular character’s part in the story of the Minotaur, but unfamiliar with what happened to her afterward. I was expecting the Minotaur aspect of her life to take up more of the book, but was not disappointed by how much was devoted to her life afterward.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of Phaedra’s POV. She was such a fiery character, and I enjoyed how different she was from her sister.

I typically prefer my books to be plot heavy, and this was definitely a character-driver story, so that’s probably why it wasn’t a five star read for me. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the writing, so it’s still a book I loved and would recommend. 4 stars.

Very poetic at points and following the lives of Ariadne and her sister near enough from start to finish this encapsulates so many points of Greek mythology very well.

For me the gaps inbetween locations that didn’t always connect the best and deaths of characters felt somewhat unfinished made it seem gappy but otherwise a really well written book

This book means a lot to me. Retelling ancient stories from the women's perspective is such a heartbreaking and important task and I am thankful for all the different authors that have made it they're quest to show the world how terribly mistreated women have been for centuries.
As an afab person I feel and understand the struggles that Ariadne and Phaedra face to a certain extent and it makes this book a very painful and heartbreaking read.
I felt like the pacing was a little slow at times but I had a really good time reading this and especially the ending solidified that feeling.
Generally I book that I would recommend to any lovers of ancient greek mythology.

It took me 7 hours and 21 minutes to read this over the course of three days (I took a  break part way through). This book is much like Cerci in its content and presentation, but deals with a very different set of Greek myths, and follows a mortal perspective throughout. For me the tragedy shines more so based on the emotional pain of the characters rather than the actions they see or experience (although that is one of the major cause of their trauma).
