This was just the book I needed at the moment. Easy, fast paced.
I feel like it’s hard to write a myth retelling without it being super predictable and cliche and unfortunately Ariadne wasn’t an exception.
Still a fun read and worth the time.

Ariadne was super cool to read, mostly I wanted to read it because of the waterstones displays and the cover is super pretty. Also mythology books are fun. This was less fun and more, a good feminist retelling of a story that I aparently only know the first...quarter of? It is like a way to say, hey, there are great women behind 'great' men.

It was pretty slow at times but I did really enjoy it. Lots of self-reflection and story-telling but thats what you get with greek mythology.
dont expect it to not end like the mythology!
you will cry.

I feel like the message of this novel was "Yes, all men are bad". If I would live in that universe I wouldn't even get near a men.

The plot was based on the myth, so I have no critique there, but I agree with other reviews that the pacing was all over the place.

I still enjoyed the authors writing style, so that was ultimately what kept me reading. (I will also give this author another chance, since I enjoyed the writing so much.)

I am absolutely, positively screaming after finishing this book. The last 100 pages carried even though i didn't love the ending at all. The writing in this is so lyrical and beautiful to read which l loved. Although Ariadne tried to gaslight, gatekeep, and girlboss, the moral of the story is the world is better without men.

This was very good.
I absolutely adored the writing style; it was so beautiful and lyrical.
I also loved how Ariadne & Phaedra were described and how their stories were told.
