- Second chance
- Small town
- Finding love again after an abusive marriage

We met Laura in the previous book. She's now left her husband and is going back to her family's beach house, pregnant.

" It sounded good. Perfect, in fact. Like summer nights and freedom. Like Before. Like herself. "

Samir is her first love. They reconnect and he's in from the start. He'll be whatever she needs him to be, he doesn't mind that she's pregnant. He's the man she deserves after all her ex put her through.

Speaking of said ex, I already hated him from the previous book, but it was way worse here, than man deserved worse than he got even if we got satisfying closure.

All around a very cute novella that you can get for free by subscribing to the author's newsletter.

CW are provided by the author at the beginning of the book.

I wish this had been a full-length novel. Samir was absolutely everything. Fictional men continue to raise the bar.

I should probably read the other books in this series...

Samir and Laura were teenage- sweethearts that get a second change at love while Laura is seeking shelter from her HORRIBLE husband ,David. Now that she is pregnant she wants to be better for her kid and leaving is the first step.

Man, when I tell you I shed tears!!! BELIEVE I did just that. This one is HEAVY!! If you read the first book you know what a piece of trash David is but in this book we get a deeper look at just how horrible he is and the hell that Laura went through while being married to him. Even tho this story touches on heavy subjects it managed to be an adorable story.

I’m convinced that if your name ends with “ir” and Talia Hibbert wrote you, I’ll want to marry you. Samir was just the sweetest. Patient, supportive, considerate, sexy, devoted. He showed Laura that getting strong sometimes doesn’t mean you have to do it alone and a chosen family can be just as good or better than blood family. It’s was amazing how little by little he helped her get her strength back. And the end is just *chef’s kiss*
