I think WH similar to TFOH has some of the highest highs and the lowest lows so far. I was very happy to see Mat again and his storyline was maybe my favorite (like always when he is a focus). I just really don't care for the Tylin stuff for obvious reasons, so I'm glad all of that seems to be done now.
I guess I'm in the minority here but I also really liked Elayne's POV? The Camelyn politics are super interesting and I like that you can see her grow into the role of queen since the last book. Also that she's surrounding herself with all these awesome women is definitely a plus. On that note: It's truly amazing to me how Robert Jordan will write the most sexist weird ass description of a woman's body or behavior and you can literally turn to the next page and read the most gut wrenchingly honest description of female friendship and sisterhood. Truly incredible.
I still hate the love quadruple with a passion, but I do really like that the girls are all friends and no one is fighting over Rand.
But the chapter where they all bond Rand and what follows after was probably my least favorite chapter in the whole series so far. It was just so weirdly sexualised and cringey, I hated every second of it. Also RJ casually dropping that Elayne is pregnant?? Hello???
Didn't care at all about Perrin's storyline. My ideal scenario is that someone just goes up to Sevanna and shoots her point blank but alas that's impossible. Truly have never seen a character that's more undeserverdly full of herself than her lmao.
The ending was obviously superb. You can tell RJ writes the books with an epic ending in mind first. I loved everything about Far Medding. It's a very cool setting I hope we return there (but probably not).
I'm so proud of myself for figuring out who all the Forsaken were behind those new names. I only missed Lanfear and I definitely didn't think Dashiva would be Aginor. But I guess I was also very confused when he turned evil last book, because I kinda liked him the most of all the Asha'man. Also!! Finally the conformation that Moraine is somewhere alive out there. So excited, I hope she returns soon!
The most intriguing characters for me right now are definitely Cadsuane, Verin (I've been eyeing her since the second book) and Logain. What are they all up to? Cadsusane is also quickly rising in my list of favorite characters.
Favorite characters right now: Rand, Mat, Cadsuane, those two detective Aes Sedai in the White Tower. Just a couple of besties rooting out the Black Ajah.
Can't wait to read on. The next one is supposed to be the worst, but the last ones had supposed to been boring as well, so we'll see.
