A collection of short stories I really liked! Witty and deeply real. Conflicts of class and gender and sexuality (not race, much) all mixed together.

I loved this book because of the concise, simple way it is written. It is sweet and beautiful.

Heartbreaking and realistic short stories. Sometimes hard to read, but haunting in a good way. Perfect to pick up if you're trying to get back into a reading habit. The title piece will stick with me for a long time. Highly recommend!

This would make for good discussion. Most of the characters are not likable, but come one, most of us make snap judgements most of the time about people we encounter. Sometimes we're right. This gives attention to those inner voices.

The short stories are current and with the times. Though they are short they leave a lasting impression.

Some of the stories I liked so much I wished they were an entire book, others I had to make myself read.

2.5 stars. I found some of the stories enjoyable, but others were just meh. And, some of the characters were insufferable and bland.

Prairie Wife was probably my favorite of all the stories.

I may possibly be the only person who didn't like this book. Every character is painted as hateful. They hate themselves, their lives, white men, Trump, marriage...and not one redeeming story that humanity is anything but uncaring, hateful, and self-absorbed.
