A good, fast thriller

Not a Slough House book exactly, but very much in the same universe, this one occurs between books 2 and 3 (like The List). Dame Ingrid is the connecting character we encounter most and it definitely does more to show you who she is than Real Tigers does.

The plot is clever and, as with his Slough House books, the characters are really well realised. While it's not as humorous as the Slow Horses books it's definitely scratching that itch.

It's a shame Apple haven't looked at adapting this and The List alongside the main show.
