I mean….. i appreciate that the book is a different ending and that the author provided a different sort of love for Emma. But really??? Did you have to kill off Dominic?

The ending broke me. 💔 I wasn't expecting such a tragic event based on the first two acts of the story. I feel a bit deceived and certainly triggered.

This book is 90% cheesy heteronormative cliches, but goddammit if I didn't find myself caring about Emma and her endless supply of simple cotton dresses that looked so good against her summer-tanned skin.

I think this is my first read where the characters are in their late 30’s and I find that I’m able to relate to Emma (the heroine) because she’s single despite being 37 (I’m not 37!! I just recently joined the 3-0 club though 😝).

Besides the character’s age, I love the flow of the story. It is so real! I mean, yeah this is contemporary romance but Emma is as real as someone who is still figuring out what she really wants to do beyond her work life and being single. Plus, the developing love story in here is quite cute!🥰💞 Dominic is swoon-worthy! 😍

BUT OMG WHYYYY!!! 😱 That ending!! 😭
Why did that happen?? That didn’t need to happen!!
I want a fucking rewrite from Chapter 33!!😭
Jane Green, how could youuuuu?? 💔💔💔
Seriously, I am as heartbroken as Emma is!!😭

I still love the story of Emma and Dominic, and I know I’ve always wanted to read a story where there’s no HEA, but not like this! 😭 Shit, I literally slammed the book shut after reading that final line that changed everything in a snap. 😭 I was rooting for Emma, Dominic and Jesse from the get go, I want my HEA!! 😭

I wanted something light for a lazy Sunday and this fit the bill. I was not expecting that ending, though! This was my first time reading this author and not sure I'll go looking for another of her books.

So, I just ended up with the story that I’ve read after I read this book I was sobbing for an hour and looking like a crazy, and I can say that it is so good!! I really love the concept and idea of the author, it seems like I am really attached to this novel, so it is highly recommended 100% sure!! <3

Not my favorite of this author’s novels.

I found it a bit repetitive and suspected the ending very early on, so I annoyed myself with anticipated anxiety.
