This was definitely interesting and I really liked how he combined the broader anti-slavery message with the events of his life, but a lot of the time the book ended up just listing off things that had happened to him.

This was very informative and I think the opening gave a lot of needed context for the rest of the book

While I definitely recognise the importance of this book, because this was read for a university module I felt that it was incredibly slow to get through. However, it was definitely fascinating learning about the slave trade from the perspective of a black man, as these sorts of narratives in this amount of detail are seldom told.
