Holy crap this book was good! I picked this up on a whim while I was at B&N, solely because I wanted to read something that was perfect for "spooky season" (for me this starts in September, idc) and from the first chapter I was IMMEDIATELY intrigued and became quickly invested in the fictional lives of Eva and Claire. There was not a moment where I felt like the story was dragging. Also, it is very much possible that I am extremely gullible, but I was GAGGED at some of the plot twists.

I really enjoyed this book. Took some twist I didn’t think were coming. It’s been on my shelf for months and fall finally brought it out for me and I’m so glad I pulled it out!!!

A good book for a long day of travel, entertaining enough to distract me from the misery of two flights, a long layover, and a two-hour drive to get to my destination. Would I give it 4 stars if I had read it during an ordinary day? Probably not.

The narration switches between present-day Claire Cook, a political icon’s wife with a high security detail, and Eva, a women whose history we learn about after she and Claire switch tickets at JFK.
