Updated review - I was stuck waiting at the dr's, and didn't want to start a new book so went back to this since it was still on my kindle. Well can you believe it I got into it! I'm here having to eat humble pie. Reading is so subjective to the mood and level of desperation ;)
The child by ow brought its own angst and the fact she was always going to be in a 3 way tied to the ow is done well. The H's love for his child, really does technically leave the h out in the cold, my heart went out to her. She had the hardest row to hoe. For her it was all about the H, for the H it was child then h. I was digging the angst.

Original review - I'm done at 28%. Contrary to the other reviewers its not about the ow issue, up to this stage she's been in a peripheral role. In fact nothing to do with the plot at all, I like ow tropes. It's the writing, the dialogue is stilted, unreal and makes the reading experience cringey. So not for me.

I seemed to be on a tear this month reading books with doormat/pathetic MFC's and the asshole manwhore characters they love for no good reason I've yet to read about! All the characters are awful and I cringed while reading them (or wanted to throw my iPad).

Hotshot is the latest release from Ahren Sanders. It's a complete standalone, but after reading, I smell a spinoff!

"One afternoon changed my entire life. You seem to have a knack for doing that."

Lisbeth "Bizzy" Hastings is a pediatric oncology nurse in her early twenties. She met her best friend Crenshaw "Shaw" Bennett during her own chemo treatments while he was accompanying his younger brother to his own treatments. From the age of fourteen, Bizzy knew Shaw was the one for her. All it took for Shaw to realize what was right in front of him was a friendly kiss.

"That one kiss left me craving more. There's no doubt, I'll always crave more when it comes to Bizzy."

Here's what I absolutely love about Ahren Sanders' writing: there's not a ton of angst. The buildup in Hotshot is quick but she keeps us on our toes with more than a few twists and turns. Bizzy and Shaw's relationship is threatened more than a few times but their love prevails. I tore through these pages as it was unputdownable. Hotshot is absolutely one of my favorite friends to lovers books to date.

WOW! This book left me in awe and utter shock throughout and had me gripping my ereader. Between the drama, the passion and the overall story, I could not put this book down and devoured it in its entirety so fast it left my head spinning!!! As my first book by this author, I am going back to read her other works because OMG this book is one for my top list of 2016!
Where to begin!! Bizzy is all kinds of sweet, especially in the prologue and I fell in love with Shaw. Strong and all kinds of sexy, Shaw will sweep you off your feet right from the start! Even through all the drama that occurs, you will still love Shaw. I love how Bizzy does not back down and even though she is put through the ringer with what happens with Shaw, she stands beside him and holds him up.
You know, I thought I have read some insane psycho women in the past, but Sanders has NAILED it. Through the whole story, I was praying for a death to “Satan” but alas never happens but I love how she gets what’s coming to her. The reason I touch on this certain woman is because she plays a HUGE role in the book even though she is not the leading lady. This woman, and I use that loosely tests the relationship of Bizzy and Shaw to the breaking point. You will totally understand when you read this.. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!
Overall, I could not get enough of this book. I loved every moment of it. The character build as well as the angst that happens, keeps you fully engaged. I really loved the banter as well as the comradery of the family in this book. Nick and Mathis were a hoot and I honestly hope those boys get their own books! They were amazing throughout as well. Claire needs her own book too… lol… omg I would die! Need more!

This is a couple that is put through the proverbial ringer yet still manages to find a way to stick together.

Bizzy's been in love with Shaw since the moment she walked into his little brother's hospital room when she was 15 years old. He's always been the other rock in her life. But one innocent kiss changes everything for them.

I always enjoy a falling for the older brother romance. This one was a little different since Bizzy had a very strong connection to all three brothers. From the moment Shaw meets Bizzy in Nick's hospital room, you could see the connection between the two of them. I'm not really sure why it took ten years and this particular innocent kiss to change the way Shaw saw Bizzy, but once his blinders were lifted the man was all in. He took the characteristics that made him an awesome agent and used that to put the full course press on Bizzy when it came to their relationship. Good thing she was all too willing to follow him.

The relationship between Bizzy and Shaw worked on many levels and it was easy to see how these two could go from being friends to lovers. And with everything this couple went through, it was easy to see why even when Shaw was at his worst, it was easy for Bizzy to forgive him.

My only issue with the book came with the villainous, Sasha. She was over-the-top evil and it never made sense to me how she twisted things into what she did. She was good for throwing a wrench into the works for Bizzy and Shaw, but in the end, I think there could have been a better way to use this situation to show the strength of Bizzy and Shaw's relationship without Sasha's borderline crazy antics.
